The following is a selected list of major research grants and projects held by Dr. Jane Law
Joint modeling of multiple outcomes over space and time (JMMOST):
A Bayesian approach
NSERC Discovery Grant (2022 - 2026)
Principal Investigator
The research addresses the emerging problem of joint modeling multiple outcomes using rich space-time data. Rich data are large datasets that are cleaned, processed, and are more refined than raw and big data. Bayesian joint modeling of multiple outcomes over space and time (JMMOST) can help maximize information extraction from rich space-time data by facilitating the complex integration of the contrasting 'space' and 'time' dimensions in a single (multivariate) model.

Methods for analysis of space-time data: A Bayesian approach
NSERC Discovery Grant (2014 - 2021)
Principal Investigator
The research aimed at developing quantitative methodologies that could enhance the analysis of space-time data using a Bayesian approach. The analysis of space-time data had been quite limited due to a lack of precise time data and appropriate space-time methods of analysis. The project aimed at developing methodologies that could form the foundation for analyzing real-time and rich space-time data in the future

Advancing spatial analysis methods:
A Bayesian approach
The research aimed at developing methodologies to analyze spatial data using a new approach of statistical analysis, the Bayesian approach. With the substantial improvement in computational and processing power, it is now possible to run complex Bayesian models through simulation techniques such as Markov Chain Monte Carlo simulations. Additionally, Bayesian methods allow the integration of priors (theories) to analyze various spatial patterns and relationships in large datasets. This research targeted the development of Bayesian models to analyze spatial data, which could be further expanded to integrated temporal (time-series) datasets.
